  • World Book Week

    Fri 03 Mar 2023

This year we celebrated World Book Week with a 'playcripts' theme. The children in EYFS and KS1 enjoyed working with playscripts based on traditional stories. In year 3 the children used the playscript version of Alice in Wonderland, Y4 The Jungle Book and Y5 and Y6 enjoyed studying Shakespeare- Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer night's dream. Throughout the week children studied the features of playscripts, wrote their own playscript and then performed them. We were very lucky to have a drama company come in to school to help us develop our speaking, listening and drama skills. On Friday we celebrated further our love of books by coming into school dressed as our favourite book character or something linked to theatre.

Well done and thank you to Reece who won the visit for us!

  • Y4 Sacramental Preparation Church Treasures

    Wed 01 Mar 2023

Today, at the start of our Sacramental Preparation Journey, we examined the different Treasures in Church; discussing how they help all of us to come together to glorify God. We looked at the Baptismal Font (where many of us were Baptised); the Sanctuary; the Confessionals; Sacristy and around the Church. Later, Mr Marshall led us in a Collective Worship that helped us to celebrate all that we had learned and we each asked God to be with us as we journey closer to Him in this time of preparation.
