Today, we examined ‘Loving our Neighbour’. We talked about who our neighbours could be and, regardless of who they are or what they believe, we are all called to love them equally. We unpicked a story from the Gospel where Jesus specifically teaches us to love thy neighbour and how he illustrated this with the story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10: 25-37).
For our Respond Task, we created and designed a Survival Kit to help us love thy neighbour. This included things such as a penny to remind us to always be charitable; a plaster to help someone up and heal them when they fall and a hand as a symbol of extending friendship and assistance. We enjoyed sharing and reflecting on what we needed to help us love all those around us like Christ.
