Qualitative Statement for Pupil Premium

The impact of this support  means that in 2018 the attainment &  progress of children eligible for the funding and those not eligible was  as follows:-

The attainment of disadvantaged children at KS1 (Y2); 

• is above that of non-disadvantaged children nationally by 6% in reading
• is below that of non-disadvantaged children nationally by 26% in writing

 and

• is below that of non-disadvantaged children nationally by 7% in maths

By the end of KS2 (Y6) the progress of disadvantaged children; 

• is above that of non-disadvantaged children nationally in reading, where the progress figure is 6.4.
• is in line with that of non-disadvantaged children nationally in writing, where the progress figure is -0.2

and 

• is above that of non-disadvantaged children nationally by in maths, with a progress figure of 5.0.  

Writing is an area we are addressing in our school improvement plan.

Many families have benefited from the support of the Child & Family worker.  She has been involved with parenting guidance, improving attendance, providing benefit information and emotional support for both children & parents.

Five children each week are able to access a counselling service which supports their emotional well-being. (The local authority waiting list for this service is very lengthy)

The enriched curriculum ensures that school is a stimulating, exciting environment and children’s responses indicate that they enjoy school and value these experiences.
