Class teacher

The first point of contact, if you would like to talk about your child’s learning / SEND is the class teacher.  Your child’s class teacher will have a good knowledge and understanding of your child’s progress.  They will be able to talk with you about your child’s strengths, as well as areas where they may be experiencing difficulties.

The class teacher is responsible for checking your child’s progress and ensuring that day-to-day planning and delivery of teaching meets the needs of all children in their class.  If your child is accessing additional provision, the class teacher is responsible for planning this support and liaising with other staff to best support your child, including the SENCO.

The class teacher will write your child’s Personal Support Plan, with specific targets for your child.  They will meet with you to discuss these targets, updating you on progress and involving you in setting new targets.
