Being Imaginative & Expressive

By the end of EYFS we expect our children at Saint Patrick's to have built up the appropriate skills and knowledge to be able to consistently:

*invent, adapt and recount narratives and stories with peers and their teacher with confidence

and

*sing a range of well-known nursery rhymes and songs independently.

We also expect our children to perform songs, rhymes, poems and stories with others, and – when appropriate – try to move in time with music.

Take a look at our learning and development throughout EYFS to see the journey

from our earliest starting points to achieving the ELG:

We role play the doctors surgery, hospital and A&E department by taking on the roles of doctors, nurses and paramedics.

We also take on the role of the patients who need medical help and assistance.

We work as receptionists and drive ambulances to take patients to the hospital to be assessed by medical professionals and receive treatment for their illnesses and injuries.

We role play the vets surgery and explore what it is like to a have pets at home.

We take on the role of a vet and of people who have sick or injured pets.

We also take on the role of the receptionists to assist anyone visiting the vets.
