Welcome to the Humanities Ambassadors page! As ambassadors for History, Geography, and Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), we are dedicated to enriching the learning experiences in these subjects and promoting a deeper understanding of cultures, places, and histories from around the world.
Our role as Humanities Ambassadors is to work alongside subject leaders, sharing student feedback and new ideas to enhance the curriculum and make these subjects more engaging for everyone. We strive to inspire a love for exploring the past, understanding our world, and learning new languages.
Check back here for updates on our projects, events, and initiatives as we work to drive forward the humanities at Saint Patrick's and ensure that student voices are heard!
European Day of Languages 2024
To celebrate European Day of Languages, our Humanities Ambassadors got together to plan activities for the day. We spoke about the importance of this day in showcasing the diversity of language, encouraging others to learn a new language and learning about all of the languages that we have across Europe. We found a video that encompassed these three things. It taught us 24 different ways to say hello using the languages we have in Europe. Along with this, we found out that the Council of Europe were running a t-shirt design competition in which you could be in with the chance of designing the official European Day of Languages 2025 t-shirt. We decided that this would be an exciting activity for each year group to take part in as a way to celebrate this special day. In our meeting, we each designed a poster that we could share with our classes to explain what European Day of Languages is, why we celebrate it and the activities that we would be doing.
