    Wed 30 Apr 2014

The netball team played the first heat of the West Wigan school's netball competition and came runners up meaning that they have secured their place in the finals in June.

Well done to all the children involved, Miss Radcliffe was very pleased with your performance.

  • Once Again...

    Tue 15 Apr 2014

For the second time this term (the first being at the dodge ball tournament and the second at the girls football) the event organiser has thanked us for our good sportsmanship when we have respected the decision of the referee.

Well done to all the children involved you should be very proud!

  • Early Years 'Farm to Fork' Trip

    Fri 11 Apr 2014

Over the last two weeks the Reception and Y1 classes have been on an exciting trip to Tesco.  During the trip they had the opportunity to explore the different departments and taste lots of food.

The children and teachers had a fantastic time and found out lots about the different foods they sell and where they come from.

A big thank you to the parents who came with us.  We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

  • Meet the Mascot

    Fri 11 Apr 2014

There was an exciting guest at the final netball match of the term.  The  team were preparing for their first league match game against Woodfold Primary when Mrs Bruen introduced the new school mascot 'Paddy'.  Paddy did his job well with the team winning 9-3.

It was also lovely to see support from parents, last years Y6 and the After School Club.

  • Spring Term Sports Round Up!

    Fri 11 Apr 2014

We have had a successful term of  sport with  lots of competitive matches being played.

The Y5/6 basketball team won the West Wigan School's competition at the beginning of the term and came runners up in the Wigan School's competition.

At the West Wigan Y5/6 dodgeball competition 8 teams took part.  Saint Patrick's Y6 team achieved bronze medals and the Y5 team finished in 6th place.

The netball team has had a fantastic term with a victory in their first league match.  In preparation for the league they have been competing in many friendlies and remain undefeated this term.  This will hopefully mean that we are on for medals again this year at the Wigan School's tournament at St John Fisher.

The Y6 football team have been playing some friendlies in preparation for their quarter final cup match at St Williams.  During the cup match the children went 2-0 up but St Williams came back to win 4-3 in an exciting cup tie.

Finally the Y4/5 girls football team competed in the Y5 Wigan School's Football Competition. The girls played really well conceding only four goals throughout the competition.  The girls missed out on medals by a golden goal in the semi finals and then were defeated by a very strong Mabs Cross side in the third and fourth place play off. Twelve teams took part so the girls should be very proud of their achievement.

Thank you to all the children who have participated in these events. You have done Saint Patrick's proud with the frequent references to our good sportsmanship and fair play.  We will be looking forward to the Summer Term where we will be competing in netball, cricket, rounders and tennis competitions.
