  • Update on Lucy

    Tue 03 Jul 2012
Over the last 2 weeks Lucy has continued to astound medical staff with her phenomenal progress.
Lucy is responding well to her treatment for the leukaemia and is working very hard with physios and therapists to sort out her neurological problems. Lucy still struggles to talk and has impaired vision as a result of the brain bleed.
On a positive note Lucy has been allowed to spend a day at home which has brought a smile to all our faces, especially hers! We didn't think this possible in just a month.....
Once again I thank you all on behalf of Lucy for your continuing well wishes and prayers for a full recovery.
Lucy's wish is to make a short visit to school before the end of term and we hope that if she continues to progress we can make this happen.... I will keep you posted....

  • More news on Lucy

    Tue 03 Jul 2012
Today we have reached another milestone Lucy has been discharged from hospital and will now only attend as a Day patient 3 days a week.
The operation Lucy had on Friday showed that Lucy is currently in remission from the leukaemia, which is a great place to be in, and a place we didn't think we would be at so soon.
During her day sessions Lucy will have to undergo intense chemotherapy as well as continuing physiotherapy to support her physical difficulties.
This is another giant step taken on this long journey.
    Here's to the next one...........
