  • End of Academic Year Mass of Thanksgiving and Year 6 Leavers' Celebration

    Thu 20 Jul 2023

This morning, we celebrated our End of Academic Year Mass of Thanksgiving and Year 6 Leavers' Celebration in Church. The Year 6 Children delivered the Readings and Reflections and took part in the Procession of Gifts (both at the start of the Mass and during the Offertory). After the Opening Hymn, the children brought forward various items that reflected their time here at St Patricks and their God-given gifts and talents. Father O'Shea later blessed Rosaries and Prayer Cards for the children, which are a leaving gift from the Parish. Father also praised the behaviour and engagement of all the children during the Mass. Thank you to all the parents, carers and families who joined us for this beautiful celebration of the Eucharist.

  • Two special things at Mass!

    Thu 06 Jul 2023

Today, during their Class Mass, Year 5 were privileged to experience two special events; both connected with Father O'Shea's Homily. The first was the opportunity to explore the beautiful carvings that adorn the altar in St Patrick's Church. Father O'Shea taught us what each figure represented and the children had time after Mass to go up and explore these ourselves. In his Homily, Father O'Shea also taught us about how, if we use them to do good and to glorify God, items can be blessed. Everyone - including the staff - was enthralled as we witnessed Father O'Shea bless a parishioner's car after the Mass. We also received our own special Blessing from Father too.

  • Community Coffee Morning

    Thu 06 Jul 2023

Today, Thursday 6th July, following their Class Mass in Church, a group of Year 5 Pupils stayed behind to assist with the Community Coffee Morning in the Lappin Room. Children enjoyed serving parishioners and chatting with them. They even got to enjoy some toast and a drink themselves! Please check both the School and Church Newsletters for dates of future Coffee Mornings.
