School / Church Celebrations

St Patrick's Catholic Primary School benefits from strong links to our Church and Parish. Throughout the year, there are many points where School, Home and Parish come together to celebrate.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation during Advent - December 2025

After attending Holy Mass, our Year 5 and Year 6 Penitents made their Advent Confessions with Father Paul and Father John. This invitation to receive the Sacrament was also extended to all members of our school community.

Christmas Shoebox Appeal - December 2025

Parishioners and families were invited to create a Christmas Shoebox to support those in need. Over eighty shoeboxes were sent to help others around the world. Our Faith in Action Group and Mini Vinnies helped to take these to the local Collection Point.

Jubilee Icon - November 2025

We were privileged to welcome Cafod's Jubilee Icon into our School as part of our celebrations for the Jubilee Year 'Pilgrims of Hope'. The Icon is touring different parts of England and Wales and was brought to us on a visit to the Archdiocese of Liverpool. Chris Higgins, from the Archdiocesan Pastoral Development Team, joined us for a Celebration of the Word led by our Faith in Action and Mini Vinnie Groups.

Remembrance Day - November 2025

Father Paul and Father John, alongside members of our Faith in Action Group, led a beautiful Celebration of the Word on Remembrance Day. Wreathes were laid in memory of all those who have died in conflict and in memory of Lance Corporal Thomas Woodcock, recipient of the Victoria Cross, who is a former pupil of our school.

CAFOD Visit - October 2025

We enjoyed welcoming Doreen and Jim, our local CAFOD Volunteers, into School for an assembly about Catholic Social Teaching and World Gifts.

Start of Year Mass - September 2025

Father Paul celebrated our Start of Year Mass in School on Thursday 18th September. As part of this Mass, we were introduced to our new Assistant Priest, Father John, and the Bible Stands - donated by the Parishioners for each class - were blessed. At the end of Mass, Father Paul inducted our new Mini Vinnies Group. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
