Zippy's Friends is a social, emotional and wellbeing intervention programme designed to improve children's coping skills. Teachers trained by Partnership for Children, deliver the sessions, which are built around stories about a stick insect (Zippy) and his friends, who are young children. The stories involve issues children might encounter, such as: friendship, conflict, change, and difficult feelings. Children are given opportunities to reflect on social and emotional stories by comparing and describing their life experiences. They engage with whole class experiences, gaining wider coping strategies.
