Spelling & Handwriting

  • Children work in a small group, which helps their concentration levels and learning focus; limiting distractions.


  • Year group spellings are practised during a daily precision teaching, spelling and handwriting session. Gaps in knowledge of spellings from the previous year group, are also targeted during these sessions.


  • Other spellings and phonic skills are targeted during ongoing writing, SPAG and reading sessions.


  • No Nonsense Grammar and Spelling resources are used to support and deliver the sessions.
