Music
At St. Patrick's, we use the Charanga music scheme to support the planning and delivery of high quality music. Throughout the year, there are additional music opportunities through theme days across the school.
Autumn 1 - 'Let Your Spirit Fly' Theme Day
Composing
During our Remembrance topic, children listened to different music linked to the theme of evacuation, before working in small groups to compose their own music. They created repeated patterns with the different instruments they chose and combined them to create their composition. They thought carefully about the sounds they chose in order to create the moods and feelings they associated with evacuation.
Performing
For our Christmas performance, children learnt a number of Abba songs (which the children loved). They learnt how to control their voice when singing and how to sing in tune with expression.
