Mathematics

  • Children are given the opportunity to work in a smaller group, in a quieter setting.
  • Precision Teaching targets regular practise in times tables and arithmetic skills.
  • Within each group, teaching and learning is often planned and differentiated across a range of year groups or Key Stages, as per the needs of the children.
  • Some groups of children, who attend the Support Suite, may need more time and support to grasp mathematical concepts, while others may be working at a faster pace, receiving additional challenges.
  • When children are making smaller-steps of progress in their mathematics attainment, a differentiated monitoring system is used, to track, value and celebrate all progress.
