Our practitioners use the Development Matters framework to support their daily observation, assessment and planning for and of the early learning of our children. Our Curriculum is taught over three terms:
🍂Autumn (September to December),
🌱Spring (January to April) and
☀️Summer (May to July).
Each of the 3 terms has two halves and each half term has an overarching topic.
🍂 Autumn Term 1: Knowing Me! Knowing You!
🍂 Autumn Term 2: People Who Help Us!
🌱 Spring 1: All Creatures Great and Small!
🌱 Spring 2: Growing and Changing!
☀️ Summer 1: We are Explorers!
☀️ Summer 2: A Moment in Time!
As a school we understand the importance of keeping our children in engaged in what they are learning and in Reception this is achieved through the introduction of a new theme each week and by following our children's interests. We strive to both promote and encourage children's confidence and independence and enjoy seeing our children happily taking risks as they learn and often succeed in the challenges set out for them during guided tasks and within continuous provision.
Some of our Reception themes include:
👂 Our Bodies
👨⚕️ Community Helpers
❄️Let it Snow!
🌼Plants and Flowers
