Week 1 - Fireworks

This week we have been learning all about Bonfire Night and Fireworks. We have created our own firework pictures using paint and glitters. We have explored the story of Guy Fawkes and learned how to stay safe on Bonfire Night. We have also enjoyed dancing and moving like fireworks.

Week 2 - Poppies

This week we have been learning all about Remembrance Day and Poppies. We created poppies for our display using different materials. We also made our own poppies in the Literacy Area. On Remembrance Day we had a special Collective Worship to remember everyone in the war.

Week 3 - People Who Help Us - Fire Service

This week we have been learning all about People Who Help Us. We have learned about firefighters, their job and how they help us. We have taken on the role of firefighters, painted our own firefighters and created our own fire engines using paint, collage materials and construction. We have also explored sign language for the words to a 'Fire Service' related song.

Week 4 - People Who Help Us - Police

This week we have been learning all about People Who Help Us. We have learned about the police, their job and how they help us. We have taken on the role of the police, explored different sized police men and prisoners in the Maths Area and enjoyed exploring a Police Station in the Small World.

Week 5 - People Who Help Us - Doctors/Nurses/Paramedics

This week we have been learning all about People Who Help Us. We have learned about doctors/nurses/paramedics, their job and how they help us. We took on the role of doctors/nurses/paramedics and created our own medicines in the Mud Kitchen. We have also enjoyed cutting and sticking a variety of things linked to the theme.

Week 6 - Post Office

 This week we have been learning all about the Post Office. We have learned about the jobs people do and how they help us. We have taken on the roles of postal workers, wrote letters to Santa and explored the size and weight of different parcels.

Week 7 - Christmas

This week we have been learning all about Christmas. We have read the story of 'The First Christmas' and talked about Christmas celebrations. We have made Christmas cards and Christmas decorations. We have taken part in lots of special days - Virtual Christmas Panto Day, Christmas Pyjama day, Nursery Christmas Party, Christmas Jumper Day/Get Your Sparkle On raising money for Save the Children and NSPCC and we've even had breakfast with Santa!
