Week 1 - This is Me!

This week we have been learning all about ourselves. We explored our facial features by looking in a mirror and talking about our faces. We talked about different colours and shapes we could see on our faces. We then we painted our self-portraits.

Week 2 - My Home and My Family

This week we have been learning about different our homes and our families. We have enjoyed exploring the Happy Land buildings and people and talked about our homes and families. We have enjoyed exploring the Role Play Area and sharing our experiences of home and our family. We also enjoyed exploring the Construction Area and using the bricks to build our houses.

Week 3 - Healthy Me!

This week we have been learning about how to stay healthy. We exercised our bodies in the gym and in the outdoor environment. We used different pieces of fruit to print to create a picture. We also painted different pieces of fruit onto paper plates.

Week 4 - Being Clean

This week we have been learning all about being clean. We have learned about cleaning our teeth in the dentist and how to keep our bodies clean by washing babies. We have also been washing our hands, remembering to wash them for 20 seconds and sing the 'Happy Birthday' song to make sure they are clean.

Week 5 - Our Senses

This week we have been learning all about our senses. We have explored our sense of smell by smelling different scents outside. We have used our sense of sight to search for objects in our sensory bottles. We have used our sense of hearing outside by listening to different sounds outside. We have used our sense of touch by exploring a variety of materials in the Creative Area. We have explored our sense of taste by eating our snack and talking about the flavours.

Week 6 - Judaism

This week we have been learning all about another faith called Judaism. We have been learning about the Menorah, counting the candles and cutting and sticking our own Menorah's. We have created our own Star of David using lolly sticks, glitter and glue. We have also been baking Potato Latkes which is a special food that is eaten for the Jewish festival 'Hannukah'. In the Garden Area Mrs Docherty hid nine candles from the Menorah for us to find and count.

Week 7 - Autumn/Pumpkins

This week we have been learning all about Autumn and Pumpkins. We have been collecting leaves outside to create an Autumn Wreath. We have explored our very own Pumpkin Patch in the Role Play Area. We have explored pumpkins by carving them and talking about the smell and textures of the pumpkins. We then used the pumpkins to create bird feeders for the Garden Area. In the creative area we have created autumn trees using our fingers and paint.
