Action Point - Advent Service Preparation
Today, we prepared for the Advent Service that will be celebrated in Church on Wednesday 21st December. We looked at last year’s Service and decided which parts we would like to keep, refresh and change. We planned our Service using the 'Advent Assembly Planning Sheet' and then wrote different Reflections and put together an Order of Service for Father O’Shea. We enjoyed using our knowledge of this Liturgical Season to help us write our Reflections. We also decided to link the Christmas Story to the heartbreaking images we see on the News of refugees desperately seeking shelter. We asked Father O’Shea if we could lead a Reflection about CAFOD and hold a Retiring Collection.
On the 21st December, we held our Advent Service to a full St Patrick’s Church. We delivered our Readings and followed our prepared Order of Service. We enjoyed leading the Liturgy, Music and agreed actions. Our Retiring Collection generated a wonderful £95.33 for CAFOD.
